<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> The Old Blanco County Courthouse (1885)<br> Sightseeing in Hill Country picture - is the centerpiece of the town square. The 1st courthouse, which was also built in 1860, also on the town square, was replaced in 1885 by this limestone structure. It came to be known as the Old Blanco Courthouse after Johnson City became the county seat in 1890. It was designed by well-known Austin architect Ernst Ruffini who designed 11 courthouses in 9 years &#38; dominated the design of county courthouses in Texas during his short career. The Blanco courthouse, a fine example of Second Empire style architecture, is a prime example of his outstanding design work. </div></nolayer></noembed>
