During my 2007 Germany trip, I took an overnight trip from Berlin to Pila, Poland, because some of my ancestors came from Pila, then called Schneidemuhl. For my return to Berlin, I took a train from Pila to Poznan and one from Poznan to Berlin. Because I found some interesting history on Poznan, I spread out my two trains, giving me four hours on the ground to tour Poznan. It turned out to be a charming, historically interesting city well-worth seeing. My almost accidental visit turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip.
