<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> The old Crofts Feed Mill<br> Sightseeing in Hill Country picture - my 2nd favorite attraction in town. The mill was originally built in 1880 as a steam powered grist mill &#38; cotton gin by James Polk Johnson. A flour mill was added in 1901 using stones from a rock fence surrounding the Johnson Settlement (adjacent to the property). George Crofts, an acknowledged genius of mechanical gadgets, purchased the mill in the early 1940s &#38; converted the mill to produce agricultural feed &#38; it operated until the 1980&#39;s. It still contains the innovative and unique equipment designed by Crofts. </div></nolayer></noembed>
