Charles Trois, an artist, entrepreneur, inventor & musician, bought the abandoned Crofts' Mill around 1992 with no real plans in mind for its development except his desire to preserve the past. Eventually he & a few friends cleaned the complex, removed old equipment, salvaged what they could, rebuilt the rest, & opened Tommy's Fried Green Tomatoes Restaurant. Ownership & management of the complex changed in 1998 & the restaurant is now the Feed Mill Café & Buddy’s Tavern.
