During my 2007 Germany trip I spent five nights in Munich. Sightseeing included the usual mix of palaces, churches and museums. Munich is also where Adolf Hitler began his rise to power. I was surprised to find a number of sites assoicated with them, including buildings that had housed their offices, because my guidebook makes no mention of them. Others go to Munich for the beer - I chose it for the history lesson.
