Winter on the Saskatchewan prairies & in Regina can be brutal, not only the severe cold with killer windchill factors, but the constant icy streets & sidewalks.

But, there are many wonderful things about winter here - the clean, crisp air; the many days with hoar frost, like this one, turning the city into a lacy fairyland; the sound of snow crunching underfoot on a really cold day; bright sunny days with clear blue skies, like today; fresh snowfalls that cover the city with a clean white blanket; & so many ice crystals in the air that you swear you can hear them twinkling.

I took these photos today (Dec 23/07) so this is my Christmas present to me & to you :>)
