To clarify this further. A Haberdasher is a dealer in accessories of dress. Hence he sells all sewing goods, ribbons, cottons etc. Don't see it much these days, as they are sold mainly at craft shops. Enjoyed this article...

My mom and I visited Scone Palace, many years ago, it was GREAT to see these pix! Thanks so much for sharing! A haberdashery is a place where they sell men's clothing, etc.
