The beautiful island of Bora Bora was the last of the four islands we visited on our trip to French Polynesia. It is a beautiful island, but, because I had such high expectations from the island, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Perhaps this was mostly because we stayed on the main central island, not one of the motu surrounding it where many of the luxurious resorts are. We stayed near where many locals lived and the poverty/dirtiness of the island was a bit surprising. Nonetheless, I would love to go back and spend more time there someday.
