The fourth largest of the Canary Islands is the beautifully barren and rugged Lanzarote, which is only about 60 km (37 miles) long and 20 km (12 iles) wide. Its capital is Arrecife, and it has 3 major tourist towns: Puerto del Carmen (which is the largest, and where we stayed), Playa Blanca, and Costa Teguise.
