The priests and soldiers that were sent to establish Missions in Alta (Upper) California were having a rough time. With their supplies running low, they prayed for a miracle. Days later on St. Joseph's Feast Day, a ship was sighted, and although it was headed to Monterey, it sailed into San Diego because of a loss of its anchor.
