But how were the moai moved from the quarry to spots like this, so many miles away? Some believe they were put on logs, and then rolled to their final spot by the sheer force of many people pulling and pushing. Others question the use of logs because there were so few large trees ever found on Easter Island. Or were there once trees that disappeared as the population cut them down for building or firewood? Another mystery we may never solve.
