At the end of January, 2008, we flew down to Seattle. As we did so, the sun came up over the Chugach Range. I take about one long range, international airplane flight every year. Because of that, I emit about 19 tons of carbon a year, well above th e average American's carbon emissions of 14 odd tons. And, I don't even own a car. So, the airplane really counts for a lot. Now, the people I know in Alaska fly a hell of a lot. And wealthy people in general fly like there is no tomorrow, so, my question is this. How can you blabber Global Warming this and Global Warming that if you are jetting all over the goddamn place, farting greenhouse gases out the yin yang. Well, obviously you can. No one is going to stop you from talking about global warming, but remember, change starts at the individual level.
