What it's like to drive in Alaska in the dead of winter. Icy road, blowing snow, five hours of daylight and a mind racing to spot the moose before you smash it to smithereens. We rented a Nissan Xterra and drove it from Anchorage to Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs and back, overnighting in Talkeetna both going up and coming back.
