West Sussex: Bob Scott took this picture of the window upstairs room in which its also the family's private bedroom/sitting room. The bed is called a trustle bed, and the children would have slept there. If there were more family children than could fit in this room, the younger ones would have slept in the servants' quarters, on the colder side of the upstairs, and older ones might have slept downstairs in the parlor.
