Piazzale Michelangelo is renowned for its panoramic view of Florence. The domed cathedral is Santa Maria del Fiore, which is known as Duomo. Standing next to the cathedral is Giotto's bell tower (campanile), one of the showpieces of the Florentine gothic style.
