Udaipur, often called the City of Lakes, is one of the most beautiful cities of Rajasthan. It is surrounded by the hills of the Aravalli range, and has four large lakes - Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar, Udai Sagar, and Swaroop Sagar. In the middle of Lake Pichola stands the Lake Palace which has now been converted into a luxury hotel. The Udaipur City Palace stands right on the banks of Lake Pichola and has many interesting exhibits from Rana Pratap's time.
