Ranakpur is one of the most important pilgrimage places in India for the Jains. Aside from the Jains, thousands of tourists from all over the world visit Ranakpur in the Pali district of Rajasthan every year because of the spectacular 15th century Jain temple there. The only other Jain temple of comparable beauty, grandeur and craftsmanship in India is the Dilwara temple of Mt. Abu, also in Rajasthan.
