On the Tranz Costal train we passed through the Marlborough Wine Region. Forty years ago there was barely a commercial grape grown here. Now Marlborough wines are winning awards around the world. The Tranz Coastal continues through the city of Blenheim to the port of Picton at the head of Queen Charlotte Sound. We boarded the ferry to cross to Wellington on the N Island.
