We were given a good tip at our hotel of where to see the yellow-eyed penguins in the wild. Mom, James and I headed out to the coast just before dusk. We walked a mile along the beach to the designated spot and waited. Sure enough, as it started to get dark, they came waddling up the beach to their nests.
