The castle is made up of three sections. The round tower which is the highest section of the castle, the upper ward and the lower ward. The upper ward is not open to visitors but one can get a view of the quadrangle from the gate.
St.George's chapel is a fine medieval church in the castle premise. This chapel contains the tombs of 10 kings including Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
The state apartments and Queen Mary's doll house which form a large part of the tour of the castle are also worth seeing and are an important attraction for tourists visiting the castle. The state apartments contain the well known St. George's hall, the crimson room.
