Although I didn't have time to go inside, it apparently has 3 rare stained glass panels depicting events from the life of Christ. One important church I missed is the imposing Notre Dame of the Immaculate Conception church on Cathedral Street. Don't miss it if you can help it. According to one awed visitor, it is "almost 300 years old & still looks as if it were completed only yesterday". It apparently has immaculately frescoed walls, a scenic ceiling, & heavily bejewelled statues that create an "aura of divinity that is simply unsurpassable".
