This was the second year that I visited the Kanamara Festival. It was a bit wilder this year. 364 days of the year, the Wakamiya Hachimangu shrine is a simple fertility shrine, for those couples wishing to have children. 1 day a year, it gets hijacked by Okama's (tranvestites) and thousands of Japanese and foreign visitors who want to see the spectacle.
