"Royal Palace" compound - museum (m)
Sightseeing in Tamil Nadu picture - There are four chambers in the ground floor of the museum - one for bronze statues, one for ancient coins, one exclusively for dancing Lord Nataraja, & one for stone sculptures. The palace was built partly by the Nayaks (around 1550 AD), & partly by the Marathas. The yellow building at the back is the 7-storey bell tower built in 1800. It has been restored & has emerged very different from the rest of the structures.
