I visited the scenic Wombelano Falls on April 19, 2008, in the Wombelano Block of the Kinglake National Park, 70 km NE of Melbourne.
The Falls Track, car park, signage and viewing platform have been completely rebult, following their almost total destruction in the massive bushfires of February 2006.
The 1 km loop track winds its way past ferns and regrowth timber down the Valley to the viewing platform - the waterfall is actually Hirst's Creek, as it plunges almost perpendicularly about 50m down a rugged cliff face.
