Coorg is not a town. It is a district in southwestern corner of Karnataka near the Kerala border. Coorg is also known as Kodagu, which means 'dense forest on steep hill'. Madikeri, where I stayed overnight, is the district headquarters of Coorg. The British dubbed Coorg as the Scottland of India.
