I normally don't try and take outside photos on the train, Even if they are clean, the triple-paned windows distort photographs too much. Here, we were very slowly crossing the Pecos River on a high trestle so I took the chance. It's not great but it will do. This is just east of Langtry, Texas, famous in western lore as the home of Judge Roy Bean, "The Law West of the Pecos", and named after the actress Lilly Langtry, who never set foot in the town. Our return trip was also late. We were right on time all the way across the country and until crossing into California. Then, just outside of Indio, we wound up stopping and sitting for five hours. There was a break in the track ahead of us and we had to sit on a siding in Indio while they repaired it. That was a lot more of Indio than I wanted to see but, all-in-all I had a great time and I'm ready to do it again next year.
