Union station in Los Angeles is unique. When the railroads were being established, Union Pacific built a number of grand stations around the country. Many of them share the same architectural style. In Los Angeles, they married that style with Spanish Mission architecture to create a unique and very satisfying structure that has been used in countless motion pictures and TV shows. Even if you are not taking a train, Union Station is worth a visit and, since it is also a station on the LA subway system, it is easy to reach from a variety of locations.
