Exploring Olinda Forest in late Autumn

George's Rd is a 2 km gated fire-management track in the Olinda Forest, Dandenong Ranges National Park, 45 km east of the Melbourne CBD.

It links Olinda Creek Rd with Hermon's Track, and was once a logging route in the early 1900s.

I explored this track on May 11, 2008, to the accompaniment of White Cockatoos, Black Cockatoos, Kookaburras, Whipbirds, and Bellbirds! What a chorus of bird songs!
