The completion of the transcontinental highway system into Reno was commemorated by the building of a gateway arch proclaiming Reno as "The Biggest Little City in the World." The first arch was erected in the late 1920s and can be found on Lake Street near the National Automobile Museum. This is the fourth sign to be built over Virginia Street.
