Victoria in March? ... nope! Washington in April? ... sorry! It's Ottawa in May, when the last dreary grey days of Winter are (almost) forgotten, and the bright colours of Spring replace them. Besides the world's largest tulip festival, Ottawa is blessed everywhere with thousands of beautiful trees -- mostly flowering crabapples --- in a myriad of colours and forms. White, several shades of pink, deep rose, or cherry colour, with single or double blossoms: their variety makes for a most welcome change at last. Here, without more explanation, are some from this past week.
