The photos were taken in Mamallapuram, which is on the east coast of India just south of Chennai (Madras). All cravings were done by hand during the 7th century. Pictures are of the shore temple and cravings in the local area. I was working in Chennai earlier that week and made time to travel to Mamallapuram on the weekend. If you get a chance to see this area I suggest you go in the winter. The temperature are much lower.
