We travelled to every major Spanish city and region: Barcelona, Valencia, most of Andalucia, Madrid, and Galicia.

We practiced our slow rudimentary Spanish until it became fast rudimentary Spanish. We visited the best ruins and museums and galleries that Spain offers. Most memorably, we stuffed ourselves with jamon iberico, manchego cheese, olives, anchovies, paella, and plenty of wine. All day, every day.

But not everything proceeded smoothly. We learned the hard way the importance of bringing the appropriate credit card to the airport. We watched the value of the dollar drop faster than a bowling ball to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. (A month later, and we would've been reduced to tent camping in the Pyrenees, eating tuna fish out of a can.)

Thanks to everyone who contributed. It was a great start to our marriage.
