Nandi at Chamundi Hills
Sightseeing in Karnataka picture - Nandi, Shiva's bull & vehicle, is a huge monolith statue 4.8 meters high located halfway up Chamundi Hill. The Chamundi Hills, at 1065m above sea leave & about 800 feet above Mysore, are another famous landmark which can be seen from a distance of about 8 to 10kms in any direction. Two other important structures on the hill are the Rajendra Vilas Palace (the royal summer palace which was completed in 1938), & Chamundeshwari Temple at the top which dates back to the 11th century.
