Just as every city has a central reference point, in Aix it is this magnificent 1860 fountain, on the traffic roundabout in the former Place de la Libération (WWII), renamed Place Charles de Gaulle in 1975. It’s the perfect symbol for this “city of 1,000 fountains”, and it’s certainly one of France’s most beautiful ones.
