This is the entrance, just off Place Charles de Gaulle, to the Cours Mirabeau, Aix’s equivalent to Paris’ Champs Élysées or Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdad. Although it is only half a kilometer in length, it is a very broad avenue, lined with plane (sycamore) trees. Home to yet more fountains, it is lined with banks, elegant shops and cafes.
