Once council Grove was established as a gathering place, civilization and commerce were quickly established. Many buildings were built before this one but few survive. This building was originally a trading post, later a hotel, and is now a pretty good restaurant. As it has for 151 years, it still serves travelers along the Santa Fe Trail.
