a Dutch canon which goes back to the early 1600s. It has quite a history. It was first presented by the Dutch to the Sultan of Johor in 1606; the Portuguese took possession of it in 1613; it was then taken to Java where it stayed until 1795; it was then given to Acheh; then it was brought to Kuala Selangor. Finally, in 1871, the British seized the cannon & brought it over to Penang & installed it at this fort.
