Lady Elliot Island is accessible by high-speed cat. You can either camp there (with a permit) or take a day-trip from the town of 1770, about 6 hours drive north of Brisbane. These pictures were taken in January 2008. It is well worth the visit for the great snorkelling, not to mention the buffet lunch on the boat!
