It was 10.30 a.m. 19 July. I had just finished tending to my orchids. The weather was fine, with the sun shining brightly, an ideal day for travelling. My youngest son, Eddy had suggested that we go on a trip to Cameron Highlands. The last time we were there was in January 2008. I made a call to Marina Chalet in Kampung Sedia, Tanah Rata to enquire on the availability for lodging on that Saturday night. As it was not a "peak" period, we managed to get a chalet. We booked our favourite chalet no. 2. The price is affordable. We began our journey from Penang Island at about 12 noon. On the way, we made a brief stop at Bukit Merah to have a quick lunch. We continued our journey and reached Marina Chalet at about 1610hrs. There is a Pasar Malam ( night market ) every Friday & Saturday night and Pasar Tani ( farmer's market ) every Sunday morning where one can buy lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, all grown locally on the highlands. Watch out for the Jambu Crystal ... local guava socked in soda, etc.
