I do recall visiting the garden in Vancouver ;o) re the signs - I do hope the powers that be in charge of organizing & 'displaying' the UNESCO listings do something about those awful signs. Surely there are sign makers there who can create signs that are more in keeping with the design & history of the buildings vs tacky Disney-type signage?

Love the buildings, especially the townhouses ... so colorful and with much detail. I agree with you - the signs certainly detract. Interesting background of Dr. Sun Yat Sen. I think you have pics of the garden here in Vancouver, where he is revered among the Chinese community.

The rowhouses are so pretty and definitely have potential. Many of these rowhouses remind me of Joo Chiat in Singapore, which is a charming area to explore. Thanks for sharing the local history, bus service and Dr Sun Yet Sen's link to Penang as well!
