We began our voyage with two days of very rough sailing from Ushuaia south across the Drake Channel to the South Shetland Islands, largest of which is King George. Larger cruise ships can only sail by, but since our ship was small, we were able to stop at different islands every day, sometimes making two or even three landings. We sailed south along the western side of the Peninsula, somewhat below the Arctic Circle.
