On July 30, 2008, I visited the Doongalla Forest, part of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 30 km east of the Melbourne CBD.

I did a 2 km loop hike starting at the Stables Picnic Ground, following the former pony trails now known as Camelia, Bills, and Stables Tracks.

This took me through interesting regrowth forest, passing beautiful fern gullies. ... (more)
