Hanoi is a flourishing city in the north of Vietnam. We stayed just over night but enjoyed the vibrant nightlife in the streets of the capital.

Next morning we joined a group of tourists and went to Halong City by minibus where we boarded a ship. The following two days were just gorgeous. We cruised through the Halong Bay (Unesco World Nature Heritage) surrounded by all these numerous rocks, that make this bay so unique and famous.

After a bit of kayaking in the afternoon and some swimming we headed to a private island that is owned by our travel agency and stayed there over night. It was a little paradise with its small beach, bungalows and barbecue.

The following day we went back to the mainland where we had to complete our trip on bicyles (which was quite tough).

Back in Hanoi we were happy to take a shower and go out for diner. The trip to Halong Bay was definitely worth the effort and an unforgettable experience!
