The island Konevets is in Ladoga lake. Its name was received from the word "horse". There is "Kon'-kamen'" in the middle of island. "Kon'-kamen'" means "Horse-stone" in Russian. Konevetsky monastery has been based in 1393. Now there live 25 monks, but the monastery is looked not so well-groomed.
