The plant used Dirt Hills clay mined on site for most of their products. Two of the 3 types of clay found on site were white & grey in color & possessed different properties. The 3rd was a bentonitic clay** There’s a hiking path to the clay canyons, which are known as the Massold Clay Canyons, & the clay pits that you can take if you’re visiting the plant site. ** The many uses of bentonite clay includes cat litter & cosmetics.
