Two Asian cooks, who prepared 3 meals/day for the laborers, also lived in the bunkhouse. Apparently, the cooks liked to make pies for dessert, only pies, no cakes, no cookies, just pies for dessert for every meal, &#38; apparently, they were wonderful pies. The cooks would also sell ice cream to people that came to the plant on Sundays after church or for a visit. Ice cream was a real treat in those days as most of the countryside didn&#39;t get electricity until 1955, &#38; therefore had no way of keeping anything frozen. The cooks also sold wine to the public during off hours &#38; weekends when the liquor store in Claybank was not open ;o) </div></nolayer></noembed>
