The Lab was built in 1920 to analyze clay & test new brick products. The ceramic engineer, who was one of only two ceramic engineers in western Canada for some 25 years, spent most of his time in the lab. He had his own small test kiln & could emulate the firing processes. He developed new formulas & products, & tested the finished product to make sure the quality of the brick was superior.
