This stately 'classic revival style' mansion was built by John P. Crysler, a wealthy miller, on a riverfront property adjacent to the King’s Highway east of Morrisburg. He was the son of Colonel Crysler, upon whose farm the decisive Battle of Crysler’s Farm was fought in 1813.
