Artemis Temple was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was the largest of the grand temples of classical civilization but unfortunately, was destroyed in 253 AD. After 6 years of excavation from 1869, the last remains of the temple were being removed & transferred to the British Museum. Today, the site of the temple is marked by a single column constructed of dissociated fragments.
