On this first full day in Moscow, and looking across the Moskva River this is the view that greets us. The eastern sun, behind us, illuminates the windows of some apartment buildings across the river. They glow in the light and seem to wellcome us here. There sis another interesting detail just barely visible in the picture. The electrical powerfor these three tallish apartment buildings seems to originate from the long, low building on the left. From there, it diagonally leads up to the top of the first of the three taller buidings and then crosses along the top from one building to the other. Having noticed this pattern here, I observed this pattern in various places again and again. I suppose that this way of running power wires saved ground level electrical powerlines.
